Catch and throw? Or chase and store?

I was bragging to my cousin of how I’ve been with my non-screen guarded phone for one year, two months
I was so happy showing her just a minor scratch that it had gained over the year
To my surprise, she tabled hers which was cracked even in the inner screen
How careless!! I thought
She added it was 5 years old and that’s where I zipped up my mouth
The longest I’ve stayed with a phone isss….
Not like I’m manifesting the same to my current but there are nights I sleep and wake up collecting it under.. Luck I call it
It also reminds me of our lucky generation
We flow with the flow
Careless we are, clingy till we fall and beside our best we sleep
Phones have become our best companion
It got its advantages Ik, and like our favorites, we lose them easily
Pickpocketing, holding on till it breaks down then start chasing the fundis, bargaining prices
And when our bargains don’t ‘enter’.. ‘ingiana’, we either keep them in the house or sell the spare parts
We’ve adopted it so much as our lifestyle
The catch and throw, or chase and store
I’m not sure we are even ready for the change we are advocating for
We could attain it then sleep on it and watch it go down
We’re so lazy to fight, or rather, we are picking the wrong fights
Does the number of love triangles murder cases surprise you?
What do you expect from a generation that has learnt best lessons in worst moments
All we know is pain to gain, gain to pain, a cycle it is
But do we say?
